I’m currently saving up for a Logitech G920 for my Xbone. This will be an exercise in building my own mounting rig, which includes a real car seat.
I checked my local Pick n Pull, prices on seats are pretty good. It’d also be fun to build something. I’m doing it.
That being said, if anyone wants to

, the proceeds would go towards my new G920. I’m still asking $50, including shipping.

I’m just going to leave this here. Also, a pro tip for getting a seat out of a yard is to pull the passenger side seat as its usually less worn and in better shape than the drivers.

That should be a lot of fun. I always wanted to go crazy with building a sim rig like buying a shell and mount it to some hydraulics, replace the windows with screens and modify the equipment to display the ingame information on all the dials and stuff.

Check CL for seats too. You can find some cool ones for cheap.
If I ever build a rig for my iRacing setup, I am going to pick up a used FR-S seat. It’ll be a bit more, but would be cool to have.

Thanks! I’ll borrow your plans and pull some ideas out of it if you don’t mind.

I hear Prelude seats are what to get.

Of course! I modified the plans that I linked in the thread but if youve got even the slightest amount of engineering ability you’ll be perfectly fine

That’s actually what I used in mine!

I don’t know why it has took me so long but I’ve only just started racing with all assists off and man alive am I better at racing for it. Logical next step is a wheel and rig like yourself but boy are they a big investment.

That’s what my buddy used in his! haha
I just thought it would be cool to have an FR-S seat. Haven’t actually looked at how well it would fit.

Then you must be who I heard it from!

I’ve been doing that since Forza 4. The only thing I wish is that all the other drivatars would also turn off their assists. It gets kind of annoying when I accidentally lock up my brakes but the drivatars in front of me stop just fine.

Weird that you say that. I saw a drivitar lock their brakes up today and go crashing into a tyre wall and I have to admit my reaction was “holy shit, they can lock their brakes too!”.

I think my Forza is broken...

Nah just random Drivitars being random.

I guess since I’m SO DANG GOOD the drivatars I face off with are also SO DANG GOOD.

I built mine out of 2” PVC based on a design by someone named “simul8r” but I modified the shifter mount a bit. Got a NA Miata seat off of Craigslist for $15.
Not trying to be jerky with the lmgtfy link. It’s just an effective way to get the results page to you. Good luck.

Evo 8 Recaros tend to break side bolsters, so they are relatively cheap. There are several diy’s for easily fixing the bolsters too.
